After a long wait, working, saving and planning the trip has actually begun. It's a little hard to believe and pretty surreal being here in Thailand. You sit on a plane have a nice nap and get served a meal then all of a sudden your in another country!!
3 days in and it's only just starting to feel real. In the taxi from the airport to the hotel I got to see my first taste of Asian lifestyle, the city is a mix of big high rise buildings/money then huts/cluttered small houses and a lot of rubbish/unfinished construction and dirt all thrown in together!
Staying in the Muse hotel in what seams to be the ritzy area we are really quite spoiled and deemed to be very wealthy.

Meaning taxi drivers think we can pay triple what we should and have defiantly been ripped off. But it's an experience living it up for our first few days then its strict budget time.

We've been enjoying amazing street food, just don't think about the dirty kitchens and try to forget the rat I nearly just stepped on going to the bathroom. But the food is really really fantastic. I've eaten crickets dipped in soy sauce which wasn't too bad, the few beers before them helped though.
All in all an amazing first few days and its just the start. Can't wait to see what else is in store and couldn't be happier that it has finally begun, while sharing it with a great group of people to make the experience even more special.

YAY! sounds fantastic already. Just be careful of the water, and maybe only one cricket a day!
When are you going to try the fertilised duck eggs-"balut"?? Dipped in a bit of soy, chilli, garlic etc. mmmmmmmmmmmm
