Hoi An

Decided to fly to our next destination as its not much more expensive and we are running out of time before Damien flies home on the 3rd :-( arrived about midnight to Hoi An our hotel people were expecting us and were sleeping in the lobby on a stretcher!
View from our room
Hoi An is a little old beach town with old buildings and a lot of tourists!! Lots of tailors, cafes, souvenirs etc was ok just to walk around. I have a cold so don't have much energy at the moment, and unfortunately needed to sleep most of the day, though we still rented a motorbike
Thinks he's the boss
for 100,000 dong which is $5 so $2.50 each isn't so bad to be able to check the place out for the afternoon. We're having a laugh every time something costs THOUSANDS or a MILLION! ($50).

We ended up stopping at the beach for dinner at one of the many cafes set up on the sand, everything is cooked on the beach, no proper kitchens just all portable gas stoves etc Had some nice fish and veges. Then home to sleep some more.
Being served fish on the beach at sunset while many people tried to sell us souvenirs

We only had one day here however I think we saw most of what there is to see, if money and time were plentiful you could spend a week getting to know locals and the town, also go on a few tours such as to Ancient Town and boat trips. Another place to come back to. But now we're excited to head to Halong Bay, flying again for just $40, getting too used this luxury travel.
