Another double weekend full of activities

Weekend 1 - MATT AND TAMARA TIE THE KNOT

John's youngest son Matt and his fiancé (proposing in Japan like Em and Steve, now Damien and I want to go to Japan but everyone will be suss) got hitched in the most beautiful garden in Mount Wilson in the Blue Mountains. With only about 30 people it was a very intimate and relaxing wedding. Damien, Em, Steve and I stayed in the Teachers Cottage which was a help yourself/clean up when you leave sort of place, with beautiful forest surrounds, even seeing a wombat right from the back window. We spent the time between the wedding and BBQs walking around the garden and playing a spot of tennis, a pretty chilled place to spend time.

Then of course was the wedding. With such a small group of people we all stood around in a pergola in the middle of the garden and watched as Tamara walked along a rocky pathway to Matt on the pergola. It was short and sweet with true words being spoken to each other then of course the pop of the champagne cork and on to the celebrations. The reception was in a conservatory looking over the gardens with delicious canapés cheeses and drinks. All in all a perfect wedding for these two love birds.

Weekend 2 - Mount Selwyn

Off to another mountain this time for some snow time adventures with Ruby tagging along. We drove up the Lisa's place in Canberra Thursday night straight after work so we had all of Friday to relax, go out for breakfast, pack the last few thing into the car and head off to the mountain. First stop Anaminaby where we hired our gear for a super cheap price then off to our accommodation, a house looking over a huge lake.

Damien had only been to the snow once and only to toboggan, though he was still keen to give snow boarding a go, despite my warnings of it being pretty hard and he will be on his bum all day. Within the first hour or so of many stacks he fell over and hurt his back!! Saying it was pretty hard and he'd like to give skiing a go now! ANYWAY the first few metres of trying the skis he fell over again and this time really hurt his back!! So ended up spending the rest of the day in the cafe and car. MEANWHILE I was tearing it up in the slopes with my skis. It was a pretty great day even getting too hot (probably due to my mad skills).
