Carathool Races

Carathool races have been a bit of a flop for the past few years with being WAY too hot to being rained out, however this year it was a huge success, which I am thankful for as we were able to show Blue and Pink a true country experience (even extremely country for me). After a week of stressing about what to wear and the sewing machine getting a workout out, we headed off to Carathool, a small farming town in the MIDDLE OF KNOW WHERE. Parking in a dirt paddock, putting on heals and having antipasto we felt a little strange (not a scerick of grass to be scene).

Braving the HEAT we did what anyone would do, drank wines, watched the horses (yes we actually watched the races), met up with old friends, Pink made a bet and one $60 which she was stoked about! Her first gambling experience. The booky who sold her the ticket recognised us from our garage sale in WAGGA a few weeks beforehand, he remembered everything he had bought, Ie our telephone as he collects them and some of Mum's videos, he said he gave his wife a necklace he bought and she loved it....

Our heels didnt last long and we opted for thongs, and most of the guys changed out of their siuts and into shorts and tshirts pretty quick. BUT not before FASHIONS ON THE FEILD which Pink and Blue entered to get their free drink...

Unfortunately they didn't win HOWEVER they did make it on the FRONT page of the Area New Paper...

All in all a great day...

How amazing. I'd love to take coast hugging friends to this sort of thing. It look slike a lot of fun. AND to hit the bigtime by making the front page - WOW.
