There were lots of snacks, and the little girls Harriet and Siena fighting over having a hand breach boundaries ie touch the other one’s chair! We arrived early Thursday arvo to unpack in the rain and met with Kate and Paula! We had Kate’s prepackaged spaghetti bol for dinner, a staple for kiddies and I accidentally drank a bottle of wine… luckily we’re all in the same boat with early to bed early to rise. Also most of the kids were up through the night coughing!
The rain settled enough for us to take the kids to the park and have fish and chips for an early lunch. We took any chance we could to have seafood. Back to the house for naps including the adults and a bit of groceries to make marinara chowder for tea. Yum!
Up early on sat morning to load up the cars for the 1hr drive to Norooma for the Oyster festival! Such a fun and different festival to visit. Kate set the record for our group having 3 dozen oysters! It rained a bit but we were prepared with rain coats and pram covers. Unfortunately Katherine had an upset tummy and had a miserable time in the porta loos. The kids thankfully had a nap on the way home while the rain absolutely bucketed down! We had the best of the day in the end, phew! Cheese platter, snacks leftovers and wine for dinner and earlier to bed for the kids who were all starting to share the germs with snotty noses and coughs!
Sunday Paula headed off and we spent some time checking out Batemans Bay street, all 2 shops and had an icecream. We of course had more fish and chips and prawns for lunch, Kate had another dozen oysters! Harriet happily lived off chips!
Monday morning Harriet woke with a very bad case of the trots! Yuk! Just in time I guess to through her pjs in a bag and pack it up to deal with at home. We packed and cleaned the house in high stress as all of the kids were crying and being miserable. Of course the sun started shining as we grabbed a coffee and headed off back to Griffith.
Now home we’ve given the trots to the rest of the family and still in recovery!

No, she's not looking the littlest anymore! Always a good time catching up with longtime friends.. different times now with kids but o good you're all in it together!
Typical visit with kids giving everyone illnesses! Sounds like a great time though. (PS I hope Kate never becomes allergic to oysters!)
