The Stem Wedding

Its been a long time coming, back in the UNI days when Em would always talk about this guy Steve and we all wondered who he was. Then they were officially a couple having a blast at UNI dressing up etc. THEN they were big adult people buying their first house, traveling and working. THEN they made the move closer to ME and settled in with another house, getting fit at park runs, lots of gardening, more travel and generally being a cool couple. SO when I heard the news that they were engaged via an email from JAPAN I was ecstatic, running out to the balcony where my friends were having drinks and we all had a toast…

A few years later… And many many secret pinterest posts and wedding plans, dress stresses (mine not Em's) it was in ally the day.

I arrived on Friday morning to meet Kiz, Fraya, and Tes at the house then headed to the wedding venue where the last minute decoration organisation was being made. Then back home to greet more family and the excitement was in the air. The one and only stress of the whole weekend was Em having a cold!! Losing her voice a bit, sniffing, red nose starting etc So while the boys were off having a catch up beer, Em had a bath and afterwards I gave her a french manicure to get relaxed with gourmet toasted sandwiches for dinner, then to bed nice and early for some beauty, and get rid of this cold sleep…

First thing in the morning was the much anticipated PARKRUN with Em in a vail and steve in his finest tux t-shirt and sweat bands. It was very exciting to have them brought to the front of the pack and announced the wedding, then off we went for the whole 5k run (hey Alex). A guard of honour at then end of the run greater the love birds then off for brekky. I thought we'd have no time for the run and hair and make-up but with Ems strict planning it was smooth as.
A very quick shower and of course cutting my leg shaving, after saying all day DONT CUT YOURSELF, off to the hair dressers for the pampering to begin, dressed in our special wedding gowns. We met Catherine there who was already half way getting her hair curled, and champagne and chocolate strawberries to spoil us. The hair dressers did an amazing job, I was very impressed with how they listened to what you wanted and made it happen… Em's hair was the best I've ever seen it, amazing. My brief was BIG and HIGH with a fringe and it was…

Race back to the house while Em finished her hair to start the MAKE-UP!! And how awesome is Kiz and her skills! Very impressed, if only she lived closer to give me some tips. Everyone looked amazing.
Well once we were beautiful, we headed to the river and started the posing, the boys a little 'happy' with beers in tow. It was a fare hike when your in heels that you've never worn which hurt a lot in then end. The emergency kit coming in handy a few time, bandaides, cough lollies, deodorant, safety pin (Loydy dropping his flower in the scrub, finally finding it then doing an emergency pinning). The all of a sudden we were there, at the spot under the trees with everyone there waiting for us!!! Walking down the isle to KISS THE GIRL remix, and everyone starring at as and smiling was awesome, and so the tears began… and still going while righting…. It was a great ceremony with lots of emotions, and true words spoken. Im glad I could only see Steve's face and not Em's though Steve didn't have a dry eye either. Then they popped the cork on the champers filled the tower and the drinks began while we signed the register, so exciting to be a witness to your sisters wedding…
A few more photos, shoes were off pretty quick, then party time, lots of dancing including a flash mob, which worked so well after all the stress from everyone trying to learn the dance, drinks and laughter…
Some great speeches
Damien was stoked to be on the bridal table
A bit distorted, but the bridal table enjoying the YUM food.
Thanks of the great time Em and Steve and for letting me be your bridesmaid. It was truly an awesome day, I was very proud of my big sister and her now HUSBAND… Have an awesome life together!!
