Everything from xmas to present!!!!!!

Ok its been a pretty long time since I wrote something on this!!!!!!! I know I know i've been lazy but Ive also had nothing going on in my life boo hoo! BUT life is picking up swimmingly now that vintage has started and a lot of the greatest folk are in Griffith and back on the scene. So I finally made it through 2012 working working and working, studying massage with lots of trips to Albury, and the occasional drink at the pub! Was a good feeling to quit my jobs (not that they would let me, and was called in every day in the first week that I left, what can I say they need me).

CHRISTMAS: I had a few days off to get organised for Christmas as well as seeing a million houses to rent for Vintage then finally got myself out of Griffith to pick Em up form the airport after staying with some friends in Sydney. With Em in tow we headed to Grandmas to begin the usual Christmas traditions. Lots of mangos! Gave Aunty Bubbles and Aunt Susan their Christmas present massages, being careful with Aunt Susan's back as she has pinched a nerve or something and on pretty high doses of pain killers (pretty hilariously out of it and giggly). Had another great Christmas day with everyone minus Matt who is in Germany, but was replaced with his card board cut out. Food, presents, food, champers, boulder dash, food. Was surprisingly a cold and rainy day.

Then to Dads boxing day for another scrumptious meal with Nan and Pop, Em and Steve, Dad and Jenny, no Alex and Cody this year as they are in Canada, the lucky things. Presents, strawberry daiquiris, food and cricket. Spent the next few days at Dad's relaxing and hitting the boxing day specials BUYING MY BACKPACK at last!!!!!!!!!

NEW YEARS: Met up with Blue balls at her house to make the trip to uni friends of ours, Jono and Kristal's house near Sydney in the 50 thousand degree car with no air con. Made for a delirious whingey car trip and appreciated the pool on arrival. Met up with uni friends who I hadn't seen for about 2 years, had lots of drinks, food, swims in the pool/spa, frisbee games. All round the best place to be as I won't see a lot of them again for another few years. Relaxing hangover swims and reminiscing about old times.

Griffith: Back to Griffith to continue looking for a house after being informed that we didn't get the house that we had been told we did get!! Buh! So more house hunting in the sweltering heat, having to shower after coming back home from seeing a house, but no leads at all and shit all help from the real estate agents, very unimpressed. Though I know we were a difficult application only wanting a short lease and a house full of young people. But seriously where are you supposed to live when you are only somewhere short term? We finally agreed to stay with a man who was offering 2 rooms for the 4 of us at $100 a week pretty steep for not much space and living in him house with his kids arounds etc also it wash't very clean. BUT luck came to the door FINALLY when we were at desperation mode. Damian Maruskanic had just recently become single and had moved out of there house that Di had bought him and his partner, good for us as it is a 3 bedroom empty house PERFECT!!!! Couldn't get any better. Blue and Nina are sharing a room and Seb and I pay a small amount more in rent for a room each. Damian is also living downstairs in his bachelor pad fully decked out with big screen projector TV, pool table, motorbikes and bar! We've been enjoying sunsets and family dinners with the 5 of us on the balcony, being a little bit on a hill we have a nice view. Its close to shops, my gym and on the good side of town closest to Yenda. Naturally with a new house come a HOUSE WARMING, but that goes in the next blog...

CASELLA:  Well we're all in the swing of things being back working at Casella, and with a 60% return rate of casuals this year it feels like I never left. It is so brilliant to see everyone again and hear their travel stories, making me motivated again for my own trip.

It has been a very slow start at the weighbridge as the whether wasn't on our side, just something you have to put up with when working a harvest job, however we are open 24 hours ie running all 3 shifts now.

You'll miss all this - but I suppose you'll survive being overseas instead!
