Last Year of University

So im in my last yr of uni, how quickly did that come around, its pretty scary to think i have to go out and get a job next yr and pick a place to live etc and also how everything I do this yr will be for my portfolio which will essentially get me a job ahhh... So fa its been pretty constantly full on with work and socializing. Im loving being a 3rd yr though i feel a lot more confident in the uni etc So these are my classes...

THEATER AND TV PROJECTS- Is our practical subject where we put on 2 features with the TV production students ie 2 little movies; THE BOYS and A MOMENT ON THE LIPS, im only working on the Boys though as the Costume Dresser which is a very small shit kicking role BUT ill be working a lot with a CLOCKWORK ORANGE which is a theater production, for which I am the STAGE MANAGER wooooohhooooo so excited (obviously the stress has not kicked in yet). So far ive done some organization stuff and sat in on the ausitions which was so interesting and very confronting/emotional ie being the a small room with just the actor and director, however it would have been a lot more intense for the actors who were all VERY nervous.

ART, TECHNOLOGY AND CULTURE-
My theory subject (that Em has done) where we learn about history's etc about technology and culture effecting art hense the name, so far it is quite interesting and only consists of A LOT of READINGS and 3 essays (one of which is due on Friday).

LIGHTING AND PROJECTION- My elective this semester. We only have this class every second Thursday as the lecturer comes down from Sydney every fortnight to teach, he seams to be a pretty big wig of the lighting industry and has lit some famous things such as the Sydney Harbor Bridge every yr for New Years, and he knows what he's talking about, so far ive only had one class with him which was a lot of fun. We have to do things like learn to rig/patch lights, read a script for lights and eventually put our skills and knowledge to the test by lighting 'something' in the playhouse...

DESIGN AND THE DIRECTOR-This subject teaches us how to go for a job basically. We have been given a brief each week to design for ie the set, then costume/lighting THEN we have to present our 'concept' to the class/director as though going for a job, then Scott will give us feedback etc so far it has been VERY helpful and not really about our designs more about how we show/sell/word/present it and ourselves. A lot of work and very nerve racking.

So that is the uni work stuff which ive been squeezing in between a fair bit of socializing... Our house this yr is a lot nicer then last and in a great position in regards to our other Nappy Ally friends/the proddies, so there has been lots of neighborly love.

We also had a 'shit load' of rain the other day-

ALSO there has been the annual events such as

O-PARTY-

TOGA-

Actors Party- CHARACTER theme

Designer Party- PLASTIC theme

And it isnt over yet, this this week is quite full on with auditions, readings, essay, Nappy Crawl etc etc etc...but i havnt started stressing... YET!
