I was assistant STAGE MANAGER (SM, ASM) and assistant LIGHTING DESIGNER, these are the rolles that I am more interested in and would like to actually do as a job when I graduate. Stage manager has to attend EVERY rehearsal to prompt lines and write the blocking (ie where the actors are on stage during each scene, and it changes a lot during rehersals so you need a good erasor). Its a lot of work but fun being able to see how the play develops and you get to be more attatched to it and know it more then anyone else bar the director. SM has to be there for tech rehearsals to then write in the QUES for when lighting or sound has to 'GO' in the script. During the show SM keeps a very close eye on the script and also visuals and 'calls' the ques to the operator on the computer who presses GO.
ANYWAY Ive done so much on Jungle, helping out in every aspect of design ie set etc mainly because I loved it so much and really felt apart of the play due to being in rehearsals etc. BUT that said I was so happy that it was over.
These pics are from one of the actors whiole we were in a photo shoot... They dont show the lighting states but gives you an idea of the set and the costmes etc.

It obviously looks so much better with lighitn etc Jeff Designed the set, which was a big geometric, cardbaord wall which looked really great with lighting as it made fantastic shapes and shadows on the floor, you can also light form behind it...

It was a very confronting play and we actually had a few people leave during intermission. mowra wrote the ply so that people would be disgusted and leave... The play was about the life in Kings Cross during the 1990's, it included:
*A homeless 'dog' girl
*Drug scene
*A lot of swearing
*"Golden Shower' where a prostitute has to pee on someone while cutting his throat
*Homosexuality etc etc etc
